  • Jesus promised the Holy Spirit.

Luke 24:49 (NIV)
“And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”

Romans 8:11
“The same spirit that raised Christ from the dead now lives in you.”

Romans 8:2
“It’s the Spirit who gives life...”

O Breath of Life,
come sweeping through us,
Revive your church with life and power; O Breath of Life,
come, cleanse, renew us
And fit your church to meet this hour.

John 16:5-6 (NIV)
“But now I am going away to the one who sent me, and not one of you is asking where I am going. Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you.

John 16:7 (NIV)
But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Comforter/Helper/Advocate/Divine Encourager won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.

- Worship in the Spirit (John 4:24)
- Preach in the Spirit, (1 Thess 1:5)
- Walk in the Spirit (Gal 5:16)
- Keep in step with the Spirit (Gal 5:25)

“The messages that say ‘just be good, damn people...to their pride or to despair.”

Loud and proud is not synonymous with Spirit-Filled.

- Don’t resist the Spirit.
- Be filled with the Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18 (NIV)
“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.

INSTEAD, BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT:
“To go on being filled.”
“To be in the state of being filled

-Don’t resist the Spirit.
- Be filled with the Spirit.
