What role do you play at WCC?
I get to serve as the Pastor of Women's Community here at WCC. I spend most of my time getting to know the women of our church and doing whatever I can in prayer and execution to create safe spaces for women to know, love, and follow Jesus together.

How long have you worked at WCC?
5 years.

What other ministry positions have you held at WCC (or other churches or ministries)?
I've had the opportunity to be the K-5th Lead and Rooted Coordinator here at WCC. At our prior church, I got to serve as support to our Community Life team. Although each of these roles were unique, the primary objective of each was to circle people up and connect them with Jesus and one another.

What's your favorite thing about WCC?
My favorite thing about WCC is the people! In our 5 years of being here, our family has walked through some difficult challenges. With each of these challenges, we've had people that we know and people that we don't step in to provide us support and care when we needed it most. There is something unique and beautiful about the heart of our church, and our family is so grateful to be a part of it!

Favorite or influential books, movies, authors, podcasts, etc...
I love cooking shows (but I don't love to cook!) and the Armchair Expert podcast.

What’s your favorite thing to do on your days off?

I love going to Thorns games with our family, taking day trips to Hood River, and discovering more yummy and fun Portland restaurants with my husband. But to be honest, I'm most of all a homebody and I love to spend my days off watching movies and playing with my kids.

If you could have a superpower for a day, what would it be and why?
I would love to be able to teleport!! Could you imagine being able to step foot on every continent in one single day?!? I can, that would be awesome.

If you could trade lives with any fictional character, who would it be and why?
Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation would be fun. She is surrounded by such characters and no day is boring. She also just has a really kind and positive outlook on life, and eats waffles all the time. What a life! But I'd want to come back really soon because I think I like my life better than I'd like being Leslie Knope :)

If you could have dinner with any person from history, who would it be and why?

My great grandma, June. From what I read in the biography my great aunt wrote, I think June lived a complicated and beautiful life. I'd love the chance to sit across from Grandma June for a meal.

Favorite Bible verse and why?
Psalm 73:21-28
21 Then I realized that my heart was bitter,
and I was all torn up inside.
22 I was so foolish and ignorant—
I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.
23 Yet I still belong to you;
you hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
leading me to a glorious destiny.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth.
26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart;
he is mine forever.
27 Those who desert him will perish,
for you destroy those who abandon you.
28 But as for me, how good it is to be near God!
I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter,
and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.

If you could have a personal assistant for any aspect of your life, what would you choose? (e.g., cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc.)
Cooking. No wait, cleaning. Actually...chauffeuring. I can't decide. But if I absolutely had to decide, cleaning would be it for sure!

What's the funniest nickname you've ever been given, and how did you earn it?
Mary Beary. It's not that funny, I guess just a little strange! And I think it came about just because it rhymed.
