Rhythms of Work and Rest
A Note From Alex Lessler
Like many of you, during the summer, our family carves out a few weeks to recharge, have fun, pray, and reflect on the Lord’s work in our lives. Rhythms of work and rest are vital to our health, longevity, and effectiveness in the work God has called all of us to. This is why the Lord commands us to take time to enter into Sabbath rest.
These past seven months have been a whirlwind of change and exciting transitions. We are thrilled to be part of the WCC family, we feel a deep sense of calling, belonging, and commitment here. We are filled with anticipation for what the Lord is going to do in the years ahead and our family is dedicated to growing with this community and contributing to its vibrant life for the long haul.
On Sunday I will continue our series, and we will begin our time away on Monday, July 29th. We’re incredibly grateful for this time, and are excited to see what the Lord reveals to us. During our time of rest, you’ll be in excellent hands with stellar leadership and inspiring teachings. Our summer series, “This Is Our Story,” will continue to explore our four core values—Uncommon Humility, Sacrificial Generosity, Radical Hospitality, and Undeniable Kingdom Impact. These values shape how we inspire others to know, love, and follow Jesus together.
I’ll be back on August 12th to help send off our Middle Schoolers to Black Lake Camp. On August 18th, we will have ONE service at 10am, launch our new “Unfractured” teaching series, celebrating Black Lake, and after service we will celebrate baptisms together outside and enjoy a BBQ lunch for our whole church family. It’s a free event so invite your friends, family, and co-workers. It’s going to be an amazing day and fun way to end our summer together.
Grace + Peace,
Alex + Fallon Lessler
