Love Deeply (1 Peter 4:8-11) - Jon Furman
1 Peter 4:8 (NLT)
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
“cover a multitude of sins.”
1 Peter 4:9-10 (NLT)
Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay. God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
1 Corinthians 12:4, 8-10 (NLT)
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all…To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy…
1 Peter 4:11 (NLT)
Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
Use your gift as an ambassador/representative of God.
Use your gifts in God’s strength, not your own.
Use your gifts to make God great, not yourself.
