PATTERNS OF 3 AND 1
WHAT YOU DO: Using pom poms, ball pit balls, or construction paper shapes, help your children to create patterns, eventually moving them to line up three same-colored items followed by one different colored item. Talk about how these items relate to today’s Bible story about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who were sent to the fiery furnace. But they weren’t alone. (Point to the fourth different colored item.) God sent an angel to protect them! They weren’t afraid. They knew that God’s got it! God sent an angel to be with them in the furnace. It’s a good reminder to us that God is always with us, too.
STORY UMBRELLA
WHAT YOU DO: (Optional: Cut long strips of red and orange crepe paper. Tape them to the center of the top of the umbrella so that they hang over the edge of the umbrella.) Invite your child to sit under the story umbrella with you and have them teach you about what they learned in today's story. What are they afraid of? Who do they know who needs God's help? What does this story teach them about God?
A Good Friend Is . . .
Read Proverbs 11:3
Have you heard the word integrity before? Integrity is choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do. So, it’s more than just being truthful with your words. Integrity is about doing the right thing even when no one is looking. Integrity means being truthful in all things, in all ways, always.

Truth Talk
When you choose to speak the truth, people know that you can be trusted and that you have integrity. Flip this page over and color the words on the back to create a poster that you can hang in your room to remind you of this week's bottom line: Be truthful with your whole life.
Thank God for teaching us the importance of telling the truth.
