All is Bright?

Philippians 2: 5-7 (NLT)
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.

Isaiah 7:14 (NLT)
All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a song and we will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).

Matthew 1:18-23 (NLT)
This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream.”Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet: “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”

John 1:14 (MSG)
The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one of a kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.

Luke 2:6-7 (NLT)
And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

John 8:41b (NLT)
“We aren’t illegitimate children! God himself is our true Father.”.

Luke 2:10 (NLT)
but the angel reassured them.”Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.

Luke 2:13-14 (NLT)
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others-the armies of heaven-praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Peace on earth to those with whom… GOD IS WELL PLEASED!

"Quotes from Tim Keller"
The biblical God is infinitely holy, so our sin could not be shrugged off.
It had to be dealt
with. He is also infinitely loving.

He knows we could never climb up to him, so he has come down to us. God had come himself and did what we could not do.

Immanuel’ means the ideal has become real!
