Commitment: Serve as needed
Every week Willamette receives countless prayer requests from our website or from connections made on Sunday mornings. Willamette Cares uses handwritten cards as an opportunity to reach these people throughout the week to encourage them, speak the promises of God and remind them that they are not alone.
REQUIREMENTS: Member or committed attender of Willamette. Have great communication skills and an ability to speak encouraging biblical truth into the lives of the hurting.
Hospital & Home Visit Team

Commitment: As needed
There are few things that can bring comfort in a time of transition – whether due to illness, bereavement, childbirth or other circumstances – like a good meal. That’s where the meals ministry comes in. Team members purchase ingredients, cook and deliver meals for people who are in need of some loving support. If your cooking brings a smile to everyone who eats it, this might be the ministry for you!
REQUIREMENTS: Dependable, with the ability to prepare and donate meals to the Willamette church family and its surrounding community.
Commitment: Weekly, as needed
You may not see them, but they are hard at work. The Prayer Team members receive weekly emails and spend time each week lifting up the prayer requests of our Willamette church body. Prayer warriors welcome!
REQUIREMENTS: Team members register online and sign a confidentiality agreement, making a commitment to pray weekly.

Hospice/Nursing Home Visitation
Commitment: Scheduled visits, minimum once a month
We often receive word through phone, email, or Connection Card of someone who has been hospitalized or home-bound. Willamette Cares has teams of WCC members who visit those who find themselves in these situations and could use some spiritual encouragement. Visits will include prayer for the individual(s), sometimes a longer visit time, and identifying ways that Willamette can support the individual(s).
REQUIREMENTS: Member or committed attender of Willamette. Complete background check, interview with Willamette Cares staff.
Physical Work at Homes
Commitment: As needed
Sometimes people from our church feel burdened by an overwhelming physical task that they cannot handle by themselves. These people could use an extra hand, perhaps with a home project, repairs, or yard work. This team exists to help assist others with some of their home needs that might otherwise be difficult for them to accomplish on their own.
REQUIREMENTS: Able-bodied (depending on specific tasks), friendly personality and gifted in cheerfully serving others.
Death in Family
Commitment: As needed, quarterly visits throughout calendar year

The visits take place over the course of a year and include prayer, comfort, and support for the individual/family as they adjust to their new life.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be a member or long-standing attendee of Willamette. Complete background check, interview with Willamette Cares staff.
